Use this template to structure your literature review:
Definition
- A literature review is a critical summary of published research related to a specific topic.
- The purpose is to become familiar with current research and possibly justify future research.
1. Introduction
- Define the topic and the scope of the literature being reviewed.
- Specify any exclusions (e.g., certain time periods, types of sources).
- State general findings of the review and comment on the availability of sources.
2. Main Body
- Organize the evaluation of sources chronologically or thematically.
- Critically summarize and evaluate each source for premise, methodology, and conclusions.
- Address any inconsistencies, errors, or omissions, and connect sources logically.
3. Conclusion
- Summarize key findings in general terms.
- Note commonalities or discrepancies between works.
- Justify your research proposal based on findings from the review.
4. References
- Include complete and accurate citations for every source used.
- Ensure correct in-text citations.
